Some general information about emergency preparedness follows: 

Shelter-in-place and evacuation:  If there is a release of hazardous materials emergency response teams will contact county emergency response officials to report the incident and recommend an action.  One recommended action to protect the public might be to shelter-in-place.  Another could be evacuation.

Shelter-in-place means that you should stay in your home, shut all the windows and doors, and shut off any fans that bring air in from the outside.  You should also block or seal openings around doors or windows.  This order would come from county emergency management and would be terminated by county emergency management.

Evacuation means that you should leave your home as quickly as possible and get out of the immediate area.  This order would come from county emergency management and would be terminated by county emergency management.
